Umrah Part 1: Preparation and Expectation

The memory just keeps flashing back-- not allowing me to move on, which I definitely like.

So I thought I want to write every moment about umrah that I could still remember. I am afraid if I don't write it down, it may get lost.

My journey to Makkah began at dawn, 28 January 2014 and ended midday, 8 February 2014. Mak chose Andalusia Travel and Tours by accident, actually. We're supposed to go with Tabung Haji, we did attend their course once before they told us that the cost had changed for a few hundreds more than initially agreed. So long story short, we picked Andalusia and had been attending their courses every week without missing for about 8 weeks. The course was held every Saturday at their office in Bandar Baru Uda, above Chamek Kopitiam. It was 8 of us, 4 males and 4 females. Abah, Mak, my aunties Mak Timah & Chulan, my uncle Chik and 2 of Abah's friends; Pak Akob and Pak Hasim. Oh don't forget ME :)

The plan of doing umrah has never crossed my mind before Mak proposed the idea (or more of an invitation) to me.

I did not know what to expect. I was just following the plan-- attending the courses without fail. That's roughly about my preparation. Honestly I didn't do much. Probably because my heart wasn't fully ready, yet, I thought.

Approaching the departure day, Mak and I did some small shopping as to equip us with proper ihram and umrah attire. Not much actually-- mini telekung, small hangable buku panduan umrah, Abah's ihram clothing and stuff like that.

Oh before I forget, the cost per person for our group was RM5490, all in (Saudi Arabian Airlines return tickets, accommodation throughout the package including meals: breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dinner, supper, a mutawif who is a person that's responsible for guiding us in our journey especially the main part: UMRAH, transportation for ziarah around Madinah and Makkah, 3x guided umrah, 10L Zamzam water per person to bring home, a set of free luggage (a 30kg trolley baggage, a trolley backpackand a typical sling bag).

I'd better be gone now. It's 3:29am what am I doing at this hour -.- I promise I'd write the "sequel" *doubtfulface.jpg*
